Dr.Oona GayleOwner and Lead Veterinarian
was born in Jamaica, WI and resided there until about the age of 9. I lived with my Great Aunt and her family at that time. She had 7 dogs, 1 cat, rabbits, chickens, fish and turtles. My Aunt said I had a great love of animals even then. After moving to N.C. to live with my Parents, I informed them that I wanted to be an Animal Doctor. My goal towards being a Veterinarian started in high school. I graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 1991 with honors. I graduated from Tuskegee University School (now College) of Veterinary Medicine in 1996.
After graduation, I did not feel ready to face the 'real world' so I stayed in Tuskegee and completed a Small Animal Internship for 1 year. With that experience under my belt, I joined PetSmart Veterinary Hospital and stayed through the transitions to VetSmart and currently Banfield, The Pet Hospital. After doing Corporate Medicine, I wanted to experience private practice, so I left Banfield.
To change things up a bit, I left private practice and joined the government under the FSIS division and trained to be a Public Health Veterinarian. As a PHV, I was over the ladies and gentlemen of Meat Inspections and toured different plants as I was needed. After just several months of traveling, I realized I missed my interactions with pets. So back to private practice I went. In approximately 2009, I left private practice and to became a Relief Veterinarian. With that, I was able to choose my own hours, travel to different Veterinary Facilities and learn different views and ideas. Then I realized I wanted to own my own place! After a false start and the recession, I finally found Highland Mills and received the 'yes' from the Landlord to build and open NODA Animal Hospital. Even though we have changed location, it was great to build my ideal Hospital.
I have 1 cat: 'Stache' (a very handsome tuxedo).

I am Brandynn Alston and I hail from the Furniture Capital of the World,High Point, North Carolina. After graduating high school, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Animal Science from North Carolina A&T State University. During my studies at N.C. A&T, I was a part of the Varsity Gold Squad Cheer leading Team and became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Upon graduating college, I worked as a flight attendant and bartender.None of which were fulfilling. Deciding to go back to square one was a huge step, but I dove head first into furthering my education for my true passion. That passion is my love for animals. I gained an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology, and did externships in the Vetward Bound Program at Michigan State University. My family and Fur Babies Bumpy Johnson, Abba Simone, and Peaky Mandela are my world. I am truly blessed to have become a member of the Noda Animal Hospital Family where my job gives me instant gratification daily.
